How To Decide To Use the Mask or Rid Yourself of It in Fortnite

Unlike most *Fortnite* challenges that demand strict adherence to instructions, Chapter 6, Season 1 introduces a refreshing element of choice. This guide explains how to navigate the decision of whether to keep or discard the Oni Mask.

Deciding to Use or Discard the Oni Mask in Fortnite

Oni Masks in Fortnite Chapter 6.

The second set of weekly quests in *Fortnite* Chapter 6, Season 1 presents a slightly more complex challenge than its predecessor. You'll need to locate a hidden workshop, visit Kento twice, and investigate a portal. However, one quest stands out for its straightforward nature: collect either a Fire Oni Mask or a Void Oni Mask.

Experienced players will know that these Masks are readily available throughout the game, often found in various locations or looted from eliminated opponents. Earning the 25k XP reward should be relatively easy. However, once you acquire a Mask, don't immediately rush into a risky situation. There's a crucial step before returning to the lobby.

Upon picking up a Mask, the next *Fortnite* quest will prompt you to "decide to use the Mask or rid yourself of it." While the phrasing might seem ambiguous, the solution is simple: either activate the Mask's power or remove it from your inventory.

Even if you choose to keep the Mask, it's advisable to use its power immediately. Other players are actively hunting for Masks to complete the same challenge, increasing the risk of elimination. Activating the Mask's power preemptively prevents the need to search for another one in your next match.

That's how to complete the "decide to use the Mask or rid yourself of it" quest in *Fortnite*. For further quest guidance, learn how to place Spirit Charms to uncover magical secrets.

*Fortnite* is available on various platforms, including Meta Quest 2 and 3.
