Nintendo Today App: A New Hub for Fans' News and Content

Author : Hazel May 23,2025

Nintendo Today is a brand-new app straight from the creators of Super Mario Bros., designed to deliver the latest Nintendo news directly to fans like never before. This exciting development was revealed by video game icon Shigeru Miyamoto during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct. The app, available for immediate download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, offers a range of features that every dedicated Nintendo fan should know about.

This comprehensive platform acts as both a daily calendar and a continuous news feed, keeping players updated with real-time information. Miyamoto highlighted that following next week's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, fans can log into the Nintendo Today app to access all the latest updates, with new content being added "daily" thereafter.

Nintendo Today provides a more immediate connection with fans than traditional Nintendo Directs, encouraging them to stay engaged with the brand even outside of major announcements. As each day progresses, users will be greeted by beloved characters from franchises like Mario, Pikmin, Animal Crossing, and more. The app's feed will not only feature the latest news but also special Nintendo-themed content. Among the highlights showcased during the Nintendo Direct were a new Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and insightful "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal, the wise-cracking otter.

While Nintendo Today may not be the blockbuster announcement like a new Zelda or Super Smash Bros. game that many fans were hoping for, it certainly adds another valuable channel for fans to stay connected with the world of Nintendo. For further details on announcements such as Metroid, Pokémon, and other reveals from the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, you can find more information here.
