Larian Studios announced on Steam that a stress test for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 will begin in January. PC players can participate via Steam, while console players on Xbox and PlayStation will also have access. Mac and GOG users are excluded from this test. Registration is now open.
Larian plans extensive testing to identify and resolve any bugs or gameplay issues before the official Patch 8 release. They're particularly focused on cross-play functionality, acknowledging the complexity of implementing it in a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale and inviting player participation to help test this feature. Players are encouraged to invite friends or find groups via the Larian Studios Discord server.
While Patch 8 marks the final major content update, Larian reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the game's modding community. Significant updates are planned, expanding modding capabilities to enhance storytelling options. Since the September release of official modding tools, an impressive 70 million modules have been downloaded, and over 3,000 mods have been uploaded by the community.
