*Atomfall* is an RPG that offers a highly personalized gaming experience, allowing players to tailor their journey through the game. From the outset, you're given the power to select your preferred playstyle from a variety of options. If you're unsure about which to choose, here's a comprehensive guide to help you understand each playstyle and find the one that suits you best.

*Atomfall* emphasizes player freedom, allowing you to shape your story experience right from the start. When beginning a new game, you'll encounter five distinct playstyle modes, each designed to cater to different gameplay preferences:

Sightseer – Ideal for those who wish to immerse themselves in the story without the pressure of intense combat or survival challenges. All aspects—Exploration, Survival, and Combat—are set to 'Assisted' difficulty, ensuring a relaxed experience.

Investigator – Suited for players who enjoy exploring without assistance, yet prefer to keep combat stress-free. Exploration is set to 'Challenging', while Survival remains 'Casual' and Combat is 'Assisted'.

Brawler – For those who revel in combat and are up for a challenge. Combat is set to 'Challenging', with Survival at 'Casual' and Exploration at 'Assisted', making it perfect for those who want to focus on fighting.

Survivor – Recommended by the developers, this mode offers a balanced challenging experience across Combat, Survival, and Exploration, all set to 'Challenging' difficulty.

Veteran – The ultimate test for seasoned players, this mode sets Combat, Survival, and Exploration to 'Intense' difficulty, pushing your skills to the limit.

If the playstyle you initially chose doesn't meet your expectations, you can switch it without any penalties. Simply pause the game, navigate to 'Options', and under the 'Game' tab, select 'Playstyle'. From there, you can adjust the difficulty of Combat, Survival, and Exploration, which will realign your playstyle accordingly. For a more detailed customization, delve into 'Advanced Options' to fine-tune each category to your liking.

Which Atomfall Playstyle Should You Start With?

*Atomfall* is crafted to deliver a balanced gameplay experience, but the key to enjoyment lies in personalizing your adventure. The game encourages you to experiment with different challenges and ease levels.

If you're choosing from the default playstyles, starting with either Investigator or Brawler can help you gauge your comfort with the game's combat and exploration mechanics. These options provide a good middle ground to assess your preferences.

However, the most rewarding approach might be to craft a customized playstyle. This allows you to meticulously adjust every element of the game—from enemy behavior to exploration and trading mechanics—tailoring the experience to your exact preferences.

Importantly, *Atomfall* doesn't link achievements or trophies to specific difficulty levels, so feel free to switch your playstyle as often as you like without worrying about missing out on rewards.

This guide covers all the playstyles in *Atomfall*. For more tips and strategies, be sure to explore our other content, including how to obtain a free Metal Detector early in the game.
