Alan Wake 2 Studio Aims to Rival Naughty Dog

Remedy Entertainment's mission is to propel the gaming industry forward. Inspired by the work of Naughty Dog, especially the Uncharted franchise, the team aspires to become "the European equivalent of that iconic studio," says Alan Wake 2 game director Kyle Rowley.

During an appearance on the Behind The Voice podcast, Rowley explained how this influence shaped the development of Quantum Break and later, Alan Wake 2.

"We should aim to be Europe's Naughty Dog," he stated.

This inspiration is clear in Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, renowned for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative. The title's success has cemented Remedy's status as a premier studio in Europe.

The team's aspirations extend beyond horror. Naughty Dog has distinguished itself as a master of cinematic single-player experiences. Franchises like Uncharted and The Last of Us have become cornerstones of the PlayStation legacy, with the latter often cited as one of the most awarded in gaming history.

More than a year after launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates refining its performance across all platforms. The latest patch introduces several improvements. Notably, it optimizes the game for the PS5 Pro with a new "Balanced" graphics option, blending elements from the Performance and Quality modes.

Further graphical adjustments ensure a more stable framerate and reduce visual noise. Alongside the PS5 Pro enhancements, this update resolves several minor gameplay bugs, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
