Stardew Valley Switch Patch Update Announced by Creator

Summary

  • ConcernedApe is actively addressing issues in Stardew Valley's Nintendo Switch version, including the divorce crash and raccoon shop problems.
  • The anticipated Nintendo Switch patch to fix these issues will be released "as soon as possible."
  • These issues have already been resolved on PC, console, and mobile, but the Switch patch remains in development.

Stardew Valley’s developer, ConcernedApe, has taken to social media to announce that a crucial Nintendo Switch patch addressing the divorce crash and the raccoon shop will be released soon. Stardew Valley, beloved since its 2016 debut, has faced some challenges recently, but ConcernedApe has already tackled these on PC, mobile, and Xbox. The update for the Switch is on the horizon, promising to resolve these lingering issues.

Since its launch, Stardew Valley has enchanted players with its unique gameplay and charming pixel art. Its relaxing mechanics have kept it a fan favorite. ConcernedApe has diligently updated the game, not only adding fresh content but also fixing bugs and issues reported by the community. A significant update in December addressed a persistent problem, and now, the Switch version is set to receive this fix.

ConcernedApe used Twitter to update players that the Stardew Valley patch for the divorce crash and the raccoon shop is “still coming.” While no specific release date for the Switch was provided, the developer assured players that the update will arrive as soon as possible. Following the release of update 1.6, which brought new NPC interactions, the Meadowlands Farm, and additional festivals and events, players encountered these issues. By Christmas, ConcernedApe confirmed that the Switch patch was in development, and now, after nearly 20 days, it's close to being released.

Stardew Valley Switch Patch Fixing Divorce Crash and Raccoon Shop Coming Soon

Stardew Valley’s major update 1.6 hit PC in March, introducing a wealth of new content, including personalized NPC chats, the Meadowlands Farm, and new festivals. Visual enhancements like waterfalls, holiday decorations, and seasonal world map changes were also part of this update.

Despite resolving many issues, update 1.6 inadvertently introduced new bugs. The console and mobile versions received the update in November, but players soon reported game-breaking problems. An emergency patch was swiftly released for the mobile version on November 15, with ongoing work to fix other platforms.

The Stardew Valley community appreciates ConcernedApe’s transparent communication and swift action on player feedback. Although the patch for the Switch isn't available yet, players can be confident that the developer is diligently working to release it soon.
