Dataminer Finds Hara-Kiri Animations in Mortal Kombat 1, May Become Quitalities

Author : Nora Apr 14,2025

A recent discovery by Mortal Kombat 1 dataminer InfiniteNightZ has sparked excitement among fans, hinting at the possible return of Hara-Kiri Fatalities in the form of Quitalities. In a video shared on Reddit, InfiniteNightZ showcased what appear to be Hara-Kiri animations, a self-Fatality feature first introduced in Mortal Kombat: Deception back in 2004. These animations are particularly intriguing because they include recently added DLC characters like Ghostface, suggesting that this feature might be part of an upcoming update for Mortal Kombat 1.

"After seeing that they're adding it to the downloaded roster now, I think it's highly possible," InfiniteNightZ commented, expressing optimism about the inclusion of these animations. The dataminer further speculated that these Hara-Kiri animations might be implemented as Quitalities, a type of quick-fire finisher that activates when a player quits a multiplayer match, a feature seen in previous Mortal Kombat games. "They are listed as Quitalities, there's still hope," InfiniteNightZ added, fueling speculation about their eventual integration into Mortal Kombat 1.

Following InfiniteNightZ's revelation, another prominent dataminer, Interloko, discovered additional Hara-Kiri animations. Interloko shared on Twitter that only two characters, Omniman and Conan, seem to lack these animations, further supporting the idea that Hara-Kiri Fatalities are being prepared for release.

Thanks @MatthewDim40523 for tag me
Here are another 2 missing from the video, so looks like only Omniman and Conan doesn't have one.

I didn't try to trigger it in the game because I'm bussy finishing some stuff of the demo of my own game https://t.co/TqBKyauY0G pic.twitter.com/hL4QzLRXwf

Despite these findings, it's important to note that neither NetherRealm Studios nor Warner Bros. Games has officially announced the inclusion of Quitalities in Mortal Kombat 1. Fans should keep their expectations in check until an official statement is released.

Mortal Kombat 1 has recently seen a surge in interest with the addition of a secret fight against Floyd, the pink ninja, and the community's efforts to unlock him. Additionally, fans are eagerly anticipating the arrival of the T-1000 guest character, with more DLC potentially on the horizon, though NetherRealm has yet to confirm any further additions.
