"inZOI, PUBG to Introduce AI-Enhanced Co-Playable Characters"

Author : Lucy Mar 29,2025

CES 2025 has been a whirlwind of technological breakthroughs, and the mobile gaming industry is no exception. One of the most exciting revelations was the introduction of the AI-generated "Co-Playable Character" (CPC), announced by PUBG's Krafton on January 8th. Don't confuse this with a typical NPC; a CPC is a Non-Playable Character powered by generative AI, set to revolutionize gameplay in both PUBG and inZOI.

The implementation of this innovative concept in inZOI is particularly intriguing. The "Smart Zoi" will not only exhibit emotional depth but also unique personalities, enhancing the realism of interactions within the simulation. This promises to make the gaming experience more immersive and lifelike.

In PUBG, the "PUBG Ally" will adapt various strategies alongside players, potentially transforming the dynamics of the game. Whether this development is thrilling or unsettling is a matter of personal perspective.

Co-Playable Character in ActionDeveloped in collaboration with NVIDIA ACE, this new feature will enable real-time conversations with players, dynamically adjusting to the current game scenario. "Our collaboration with NVIDIA is a testament to the transformative potential of AI in gaming, and we plan to work closely together to push the boundaries of what is possible," stated Kangwook Lee, Head of the Deep Learning Division at Krafton.
