AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Confirmed: Official Release Announced

Author : Hunter May 23,2025

AMD has unveiled the Radeon RX 9060 XT at Computex 2025, building on the success of the RX 9070 XT released in March. While details are scarce, this mid-range graphics card is poised to make a significant impact in the gaming community.

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is equipped with 32 Compute Units and a robust 16GB of GDDR6 memory, making it an attractive option for gamers focused on 1080p gaming. Its compact design also means it will consume less power than its predecessor, with a Total Board Power (TBP) ranging from 150-182W. This is a notable reduction compared to the RX 9070 XT, which suggests the RX 9060 XT will be more energy-efficient and potentially more affordable. However, specific pricing and release date details remain undisclosed by AMD.

The Budget Battles Have Begun

While the lack of pricing information from AMD is frustrating, it's anticipated that the Radeon RX 9060 XT will be competitively priced, likely around the $250-$300 range. This places it in direct competition with the Intel Arc B580 and the recently launched RTX 5060, which have power budgets of 145W and 190W, respectively, and retail for similar prices. AMD appears to be targeting the same market segment with the RX 9060 XT.

When the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT finally hits the market, budget-conscious gamers will have a trio of options from leading manufacturers. If the RX 9060 XT stays within the $300 price range, it could have a significant advantage over its rivals: it boasts 16GB of VRAM, outstripping the 8GB from Nvidia's RTX 5060 and the 12GB from Intel's Arc B580. This larger frame buffer could ensure the RX 9060 XT remains relevant longer as game demands on video memory continue to grow.

While performance testing in the lab is necessary to confirm its capabilities, the RX 9060 XT's larger memory capacity alone suggests it may be a top contender in the budget GPU market. As we await further details on pricing and availability, the Radeon RX 9060 XT is certainly one to keep an eye on.
