Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series by letting fans vote on the next round of official merchandise. A whopping 100 items are up for grabs, with the top two vote-getters slated for production and release within the next two years.
The voting, conducted solely on the official Japanese website, offers a diverse range of options. While some are fairly standard, such as a 20th-anniversary hoodie or a Yakuza-themed pencil case, many others draw inspiration from the series' famously eccentric history.
Fans can cast their votes for items ranging from the cult leader Munan Suzuki's outfit in Yakuza 0 to the oversized traffic cone Majima uses in Yakuza Kiwami. The list also includes more unusual choices, such as "Puffy Gold Pants," Majima's sake cup from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, Akiyama's gold watch, Kiryu's fountain pen from Yakuza 6, Kashiwagi's tambourine from Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Kiryu's wrestling mask from Yakuza 3, and Saejima's prison uniform from Yakuza 4.
2025 marks not only the 20th anniversary but also sees the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean on February 21st. While a second release this year remains unconfirmed, RGG Studio's prolific output—nine games in the last five years alone—suggests it's a possibility. This impressive track record includes Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Judgment Remastered, Lost Judgment, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth, and two Super Monkey Ball games, plus an enhanced remaster of Virtua Fighter 5.
