Torchlight: Infinite's next chapter, Season 8: Sandlord, is set to launch on April 17th, promising a significant overhaul of the game's content. This season introduces the Cloud Oasis, an innovative feature that shifts the focus to economic gameplay, allowing players to build and manage their own aerial strongholds through trading resources and overseeing production.
The season also brings back Thea with a new twist. Her Blasphemer trait exchanges her divine powers for the Desecration curse, which starts off weak but scales powerfully. This trait enhances Erosion damage based on the depletion of her blessing power, and can be further developed into area-of-effect explosions or health-scaling effects, catering to fans of damage-over-time and synergy-based builds.
Endgame content in Torchlight: Infinite has been revamped, with Deep Space receiving a complete overhaul. Players can now navigate through five new stages, explore larger maps, and face tougher enemies. The introduction of the Probes system allows players to adjust the level of risk and potential rewards, with the possibility of earning Compass chests via the Compass Probe.
Season 8 also introduces a Blending System for belt crafting, enabling the fusion of Hero Traits, Talent nodes, and unique affixes into one item slot, thereby offering deeper customization for character builds. A new boss, Night Slayer – The Wilting Plume, has been added to the game, available on the 20th floor of the Supreme Showdown and as part of the Plane Watcher encounters.
To celebrate the launch, the Sands of Fortune anniversary event will run from April 17th to May 1st, offering players the chance to earn Gold Rush Attempts and compete for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
