In the early stages of *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, Naoe embarks on a quest to avenge her father's murder by hunting down the masked assailants. You have the option to begin this journey with the Golden Teppo, and here's how you can locate Imai Sokyu and the tea merchant in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*.

The clues to find Imai Sokyu are sparse but crucial:

  • He is located in the western part of Settsu.
  • More specifically, he's in the southwestern area of Sakai.

To pinpoint Imai Sokyu's location, open your world map and navigate to Sakai. If you have scouts at your disposal, you can press the square button to send them to scout the southwestern part of the city, directly locating Imai Sokyu. Without scouts, travel to Sakai and head to the Money Changer District. Use the L2 button to scan the area, and look for a blue dot indicating Imai Sokyu's position.

Once you find him, a brief sequence will ensue where you'll follow Imai Sokyu, eventually leading to a conversation in a teahouse. This interaction provides Naoe with vital information for her next steps.

After meeting Imai Sokyu, your next task is to find the tea merchant, conveniently located near your previous encounter. Travel to the northern part of Sakai and once again use the L2 button to scan for the blue dot that marks the tea merchant's location.

Finding the tea merchant allows you to progress in the quest, where Naoe learns the art of the tea ceremony, bringing you closer to acquiring the Golden Teppo.

That's all you need to know about locating Imai Sokyu and the tea merchant in *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*. For more tips and detailed guides on the game, including how to adjust difficulty settings and romance Katsuhime, be sure to visit The Escapist.
