"Switch 2 Zelda Ports: Repair Equipment Using Zelda Notes App"

Author : Hannah May 08,2025

Exciting news for fans of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom! The upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 versions of these iconic games are set to receive some significant upgrades, including a new feature that could change the way you play. As discovered by YouTuber Zeltik during a recent Nintendo Treehouse Live stream, the Zelda Notes app—a mobile companion app exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 versions of these games—introduces a Daily Bonus feature. This feature allows players to roll for various in-game bonuses, including meal effects, health and stamina recovery, and, notably, Equipment Repairs.

For those unfamiliar, both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom feature durability meters for weapons, shields, and other items, which has been a point of contention among players. The ability to repair equipment through the Zelda Notes app could be a game-changer, allowing you to keep your favorite Flameblade in top condition. However, it's important to note that this feature comes with a catch: it's based on chance. The Daily Bonus uses a roulette wheel to randomly select which bonus you receive, so getting an Equipment Repair isn't guaranteed. Additionally, the bonus is available only once per day, with a timer that you'll need to wait out before your next roll. While this might not revolutionize the gameplay entirely, it could be a lifesaver in critical moments.

The Zelda Notes app offers more than just equipment repairs. It also includes achievements for both games and special audio memories that enrich the lore and background of different parts of Hyrule. These enhancements, combined with the performance improvements of the Nintendo Switch 2, promise to elevate the open-world Zelda experience, particularly for those who've struggled with the durability system.
