S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Roadmap for Q2 2025
Updates Every 3 Months
In a commitment to continuous improvement, GSC Gameworld plans to release updates every three months, accompanied by detailed patch notes to ensure players are kept in the loop about what's coming next. Following the successful Q1 updates that addressed significant issues and introduced multiple hotfixes, the developers are poised to roll out even more enhancements based on player feedback.
The Q2 2025 roadmap promises a range of exciting updates, including:
- Beta Mod SDK Kit
- A-Life/AI Updates
- Mutant Loot
- Shader Compilation Skip
- Player Stash Window Increase
- Wide Screen Aspect Ratio Support
- 2 New Weapons
- Further Stabilization, Optimization, and "Anomalies" Fixing
- STALKER Original Trilogy Next-Gen Update
Beta Mod SDK Kit, A-Life Updates, and More
Central to the upcoming updates are the Beta Mod SDK Kit and further enhancements to the A-Life system. GSC Gameworld aims to launch a closed beta for mod makers to test the ModKit before its public release, and plans to integrate Mod.io and Steam Workshop for easier mod access and sharing.
The A-Life system, which governs the game's NPC AI and simulation, will see continued improvements. Following a massive 110 GB update for the Christmas patch last year, the developers are set to introduce "persistent A-Life improvements" and enhance human combat dynamics with better use of cover, flanking tactics, and limited grenade usage.
Mutants in the game will also receive updates, with new behaviors such as eating corpses and reacting to threats. Additional features include the introduction of mutant loot, the option to skip shader compilation, an increase in the player stash window, support for wide screen aspect ratios, and the addition of two new unspecified weapons. The team will also focus on further stabilization and optimization of the game.
As a bonus, fans of the original STALKER trilogy can look forward to a next-gen update, with more details to be revealed as the release date approaches. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is available on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Stay tuned for more updates and in-depth coverage on our website!
