Square Enix Announces The EOS Of Romancing SaGa Re:universe

Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While the Japanese version continues, this marks the end of a four-year run for the global release, launched in June 2020.

Two Months Remain

In-app purchases and Google Play Point exchanges have already ceased following the September 29th, 2024 maintenance. Players have approximately two months left to enjoy the game. New players also have this time to experience the title before its closure.

A Mixed Legacy

Despite impressive visuals and a generous gacha system, Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global version received mixed player feedback. The omission of significant content updates available in the Japanese version, such as Solistia and 6-star units (available in Japan for almost a year), contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately impacted the game's longevity.

Square Enix's Recent Closures

This closure follows several other Square Enix game shutdowns in 2024, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile titles.

A Final Chance

Romancing SaGa Re:universe is a turn-based RPG based on the classic SaGa series. If you're a fan of the genre, or simply curious, now's your chance to explore the game before its servers go offline. Download it from the Google Play Store.
