Myst-Like Lovecraftian Point-And-Click Puzzle My Father Lied Is Coming to Android This Year

In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique title can be challenging. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating narrative. This mystery/Lovecraftian puzzle adventure boasts a compelling story that sets it apart from the crowd.

My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision

The game's creation story is fascinating. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued writing and filmmaking. A college collaboration idea sparked interest in game development, but that initial team dissolved. Undeterred, Alameen pursued his vision solo, learning 3D modeling and Unreal Engine to bring his concept to life. Even the game's title resulted from a collaborative brainstorming session with his wife.

Unraveling the Game's Narrative

The game plunges players into a mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian mythology, filled with secrets, puzzles, and unexpected twists. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far from straightforward.

My Father Lied masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, avoiding complex controls, and showcases beautiful 2D visuals and 360-degree imagery.
