Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025!
Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several game publishers have announced the return of their titles for the 2025 edition. Hot on the heels of Garena's Free Fire confirmation, Moonton has announced that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang will also be featured.
The 2024 World Cup showcased two Mobile Legends: Bang Bang events: the MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh, with Selangor Red Giants claiming victory in the MSC. The Women's Invitational saw Smart Omega Empress triumph over Team Vitality, ending Vitality's impressive 25-game winning streak.
A Strong Showing, But Is It Enough?
While most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup are returning, a notable observation is the lack of truly major championships featured. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for example, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a secondary event rather than the main stage. This is a double-edged sword; it avoids overshadowing existing leagues but could also be perceived as less significant than other competitions.
Nevertheless, fans of the games involved will undoubtedly welcome the return of so many familiar titles to this prestigious tournament.
