Marvel Snap: Top Agamotto Decks

Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! The Season Pass boasts Agamotto, a powerful ancient sorcerer and Doctor Strange associate, as its centerpiece card. Let's explore the best Agamotto decks.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with the ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:

  • Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)
  • Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)
  • Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)
  • Images of Ikonn (4-cost): On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)

Notice the Arcana lack power cost, are classified as Skill cards (not characters), and possess the "Banish" keyword. They're played, then banished—not discarded or destroyed, and cannot be replayed. This means they combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull Agamotto, and Ravonna Renslayer or Mister Negative won't affect them. Agamotto's diverse Arcana effects make him adaptable but challenging to fit into a single archetype.

Best Early Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While Agamotto may eventually define his own archetype, he currently slots well into two: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.

Wiccan Control:

Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galactus, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth. [Untapped decklist link here]

This deck is expensive (mostly Series 5 cards except Quicksilver). Many cards are replaceable with similar-cost alternatives. Bolts of Balthakk provides late-game energy even if Wiccan isn't drawn early. Temporal Manipulation gets Agamotto into your hand, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful copies, especially with Cassandra Nova or Galactus. Eson (released alongside Agamotto) also complements this strategy.

Push Scream:

Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Spider-Man, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto. [Untapped decklist link here]

This deck is also expensive (Series 5 cards: Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, Cannonball; replace Hydra Bob with Nightcrawler, Iron Patriot with Jeff). Wombs of Watoomb synergizes directly with Agamotto. Temporal Manipulation makes Agamotto a potent turn 6 play, especially after Bolts of Balthakk. Images of Ikonn creates multiple Screams, Spider-Men, or Cannonballs for overwhelming board presence. Agamotto adds unpredictability and counters Luke Cage/Shadow King decks.

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto's power level rivals Thanos or Arishem. He'll shift the meta, potentially frustrating opponents with powerful synergies. His future archetype potential makes the $9.99 USD Season Pass worthwhile if you have the budget.
