Marvel Easter Egg Drops Clue to Next Cinematic Hero

Marvel Rivals: Wong's Potential Arrival Hints at a Magical Future

Speculation is swirling within the Marvel Rivals community regarding the potential addition of Wong to the game's roster. This speculation stems from a recently released trailer showcasing the new Sanctum Sanctorum map. A keen-eyed Reddit user, fugo_hate, spotted a brief glimpse of a painting depicting Doctor Strange's mystical ally, Wong, seemingly mirroring his MCU counterpart.

This Easter egg has ignited fervent discussion, with many players hoping Wong's inclusion is more than just a visual reference. The game, a hit with multiplayer hero shooter fans, boasting over 10 million players within its first 72 hours, is poised for its Season 1 launch on January 10th.

Season 1, titled "Eternal Night," introduces Dracula as the main antagonist, setting a supernatural tone and fueling anticipation for characters like Blade. The Fantastic Four's arrival has already been confirmed, along with alternate skins for Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman as the Maker and Malice.

Wong's popularity has skyrocketed thanks to Benedict Wong's MCU portrayal, adding to the excitement surrounding this potential addition. While he's appeared in various games (Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Marvel Contest of Champions, Marvel Snap, and LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2), a playable role in Marvel Rivals would mark a significant milestone.

However, the painting could simply be a tribute to Doctor Strange's trusted companion, given the Sanctum Sanctorum's numerous Marvel universe references. Regardless, the Season 1 launch, featuring three new locations, the Doom Match mode, and the playable Fantastic Four, is just around the corner. Players can expect to dive into the action later this week. The mystery of Wong's potential inclusion, however, will likely continue to fuel fan discussions.
