A Sneak Peek Into Miraland

The highly-anticipated fashion-centered open-world game, Infinity Nikki, is set to launch on December 4th (EST/PST). A 25-minute documentary has been released, celebrating the dedication and passion that fueled the game's development through interviews with key team members.

Infinity Nikki's journey began in December 2019 when the Nikki series' producer approached Chief Technology Officer Fei Ge with a vision of an open-world game featuring Nikki's adventures. The project was shrouded in secrecy, with the team working in a separate office to maintain confidentiality. "We spent over a year recruiting, brainstorming, and laying down the groundwork," Fei Ge shared.

Game designer Sha Dingyu highlighted the unprecedented challenge of merging the Nikki IP's dress-up mechanics with an open-world framework. "It was a process of creating something new from the ground up," he explained, reflecting on years of research and development.

Despite the hurdles, the team was united in their mission to bring this dream to life. The Nikki franchise, which started with NikkuUp2U in 2012, sees its fifth installment in Infinity Nikki, marking the series' debut on PC and console alongside mobile. Fei Ge emphasized that the team could have opted for another mobile game but chose to innovate and elevate the Nikki IP. Their dedication was evident when their producer crafted a clay model of the Grand Millewish Tree, symbolizing their passion for the project.

The documentary showcases the enchanting landscapes of Miraland, with a particular focus on the Grand Millewish Tree and its mystical Faewish Sprites. The world of Miraland is brimming with life, featuring NPCs with daily routines that enhance the game's immersive experience. Game designer Xiao Li noted, "Even during missions, the NPCs continue their lives, making Miraland feel more real and vibrant."

The stunning visuals and polished look of Infinity Nikki are no surprise, given the talent behind the project. The core Nikki team, familiar with the IP since its inception, was joined by international experts. Lead Sub Director Kentaro "Tomiken" Tominaga, known for his work on The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and concept artist Andrzej Dybowski, who contributed to The Witcher 3, are among the notable additions.

From the official start of development on December 28th, 2019, to the eagerly awaited launch on December 4th, 2024, the team has invested 1814 days into crafting this masterpiece. As the release date approaches, excitement is building for players to explore Miraland alongside Nikki and her companion, Momo.
