GTA 6 Ex-Dev Says Rockstar Games Will Blow People Away
Rockstar Games “Raises The Bar Again” with GTA 6
In an exclusive interview with the YouTube channel GTAVIoclock, Ben Hinchliffe, a former Rockstar Games developer, offered a sneak peek into what fans can expect from the eagerly awaited GTA 6. Before his departure from the company, Hinchliffe contributed to several iconic Rockstar titles, including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire.Discussing the development of GTA 6, Hinchliffe shared that he had access to a wealth of new content and story elements. He expressed his enthusiasm for the game's evolution, stating, "I think seeing where it was when I left and playing that final version and how much, if anything, has changed. How much things have changed." His confidence in the game's progress is palpable.
Last year, Rockstar Games unveiled the official trailer for GTA 6, introducing new protagonists and setting the stage in Vice City, hinting at a thrilling crime-filled narrative. Scheduled for release in the Fall of 2025 exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, details about the game have been released sparingly. Despite Rockstar's usual secrecy, Hinchliffe emphasized that GTA 6 represents a significant leap forward for the company, stating, "You only have to look at how every game Rockstar has done has evolved in some way. You could argue that every element of the game moves forward in terms of feeling more realistic and people acting and behaving more realistically as every game is iterated through each cycle. I think [Rockstar Games] has raised the bar again just like they always do."
Reflecting on the state of GTA 6 around the time he left Rockstar three years ago, Hinchliffe believes the game has undergone extensive fine-tuning and performance optimization. He suggests that Rockstar is currently focused on resolving any bugs and issues that may surface during the game's development cycle.
When asked about fan reactions to GTA 6's release, Hinchliffe predicted a strong response, saying, "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton as it always does." He added, "People have been talking about it for ages after GTA 5 and I’m really excited for people to get their hands on it and play it." His comments underscore the high expectations and excitement surrounding GTA 6's launch.
