Marvel's Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, the Disney+ animated series chronicling Peter Parker's freshman year, has already secured renewals for Seasons 2 and 3. Brad Winderbaum, Marvel Studios' head of streaming, television, and animation, revealed in an interview with The Movie Podcast that Season 2's scripts are complete, with half the storyboards finished—all before Season 1 even premieres on January 29th. Season 3 is also officially greenlit.
Winderbaum expressed his enthusiasm for the series, stating, "I've fallen so head over heels in love with these characters and I've now read all of the scripts for Season 2; we're halfway through the animatics. What [lead writer and executive producer Jeff Trammell] is building brick by brick in this show starts to pay off. You feel it in Season 1. You grow connected to these characters so that when everything starts to lock into place and pay off by the end of the season...it just gets deeper and deeper in subsequent seasons."
He mentioned upcoming meetings with Trammell to discuss the Season 3 pitch, but offered no release dates for either Season 2 or 3.
