Paradox Interactive has unveiled an exciting roadmap for Crusader Kings III's upcoming content in 2025, all part of Chapter IV, which focuses on expanding the game's reach into Asia with new mechanics and regions to explore.
The journey begins with the recently released cosmetic DLC, "Crowns of the World." This stylish pack, though small, offers players six crowns, four hairstyles, and two beards, providing more options to personalize their rulers and add flair to their gameplay experience.
On April 28, the first major DLC, "Khans of the Steppe," will make its debut, allowing players to take command of the Mongols. As the Great Khan, you'll lead a nomadic horde, conquering lands and establishing dominance over neighboring territories. This expansion promises thrilling gameplay as you navigate the challenges of a nomadic empire.
Following this, "Coronations" will introduce a new ceremonial mechanic, allowing players to legitimize their reign through grand coronation events. These ceremonies involve hosting extravagant festivities, making solemn vows, and deciding the path of your kingdom. Additionally, new advisor and vassal events will enhance political interactions, adding depth to royal succession. This DLC is slated for release in Q3 (July–September).
The chapter will conclude with "All Under Heaven," a massive expansion arriving later in the year. This expansion features the entire East Asian map, including detailed depictions of China, Korea, Japan, and the Indonesian islands. Players will have vast new territories to explore and conquer, offering endless possibilities for strategic gameplay and empire-building.
In between these major DLC releases, Paradox will issue patches to refine game systems and improve AI behavior. The developers are actively seeking player input to shape future updates, with the next Q&A session scheduled for March 26. This engagement ensures that the community's feedback directly influences the ongoing development of Crusader Kings III.
