While *Avowed*'s Living Lands feel vast, the main quest is surprisingly concise. Curious about what awaits after the credits roll? Let's explore the post-game experience in Obsidian's latest RPG.
Does *Avowed* Have New Game Plus?
Many RPG fans relish replaying the main quest on higher difficulties, wielding earned skills and gear. Unfortunately, Avowed currently lacks a New Game Plus mode at launch. However, Obsidian may add this feature in a future update or DLC based on player feedback, as many are requesting it.
Even without New Game Plus, replayability exists. Avowed's impactful choices create diverse story outcomes and character builds, making a fresh save worthwhile to explore different endings and playstyles.
Does *Avowed* Have Endgame Content?

Avowed features four main regions, a secret final area, and a return to a major city (we won't spoil which one!). Legendary-quality weapons and gear become crucial in these challenging final areas. However, this increased difficulty doesn't carry over to previously explored regions, nor does it unlock new ones. The inability to revisit the Living Lands, shaped by your choices, is a notable omission.
What You Can Do After Beating *Avowed*
Avowed's post-game is relatively limited due to the absence of New Game Plus and endgame content. After the final encounter, you'll watch several minutes of cutscenes depicting the consequences of your decisions. Then, you're back to the main menu.
From there, you can start a new game or reload a previous save. Autosaves exist before the point of no return and the final encounter, allowing you to replay those sections and make different choices for alternate story outcomes.
Reloading to a point before the point of no return lets you revisit earlier regions. Clean up the map, earn achievements, complete missed side quests, and collect any overlooked items. Enemies in these earlier areas won't scale to your level, making it incredibly satisfying to revisit Dawnshore, for example, with your powerful Legendary gear.
And that's the post-game experience in Avowed.
Avowed is available now on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox Game Pass.
