Path of Exile 2's endgame demands significant preparation. Fortunately, the developers have strategically placed easily-missed encounters within the main campaign offering permanent stat boosts. These include passive skill points, weapon set skill points, and, importantly, the Sisters of Garukhan encounter, granting a valuable +10% Lightning Resistance. This guide explains how to locate and activate this crucial buff.

Where To Find the Sisters of Garukhan

The Sisters of Garukhan encounter appears twice: once in Act 2 and again in Act 2 Cruel. Activating the shrine at each location grants +10% Lightning Resistance. Its inconspicuous icon on the world map makes it easily overlooked.

Due to PoE 2's randomly generated maps, the Sisters' exact location within the Spires of Deshar isn't fixed. However, diligent exploration will reveal a shrine resembling the image above. Interacting with it bestows the buff. Be warned: activating the shrine triggers a combat encounter with metallic automatons.

A helpful strategy involves utilizing the checkpoint near the shrine's location. If you reach the exit checkpoint before interacting, fast travel back to avoid traversing the entire map.

Claiming the +10% Lightning Resistance Buff

The +10% Lightning Resistance is applied instantly upon interacting with the shrine. It's not a dropped item or a reward for defeating the automatons; it's automatically granted upon interaction.

Remember, the Sisters' encounter is repeatable in both Act 2 and Act 2 Cruel. Activating both locations yields a total of +20% Lightning Resistance.

Troubleshooting: Why Isn't My Lightning Resistance Increasing?

Many players are puzzled to find their Lightning Resistance remains negative even after activating the Sisters' shrine. This is because PoE 2 applies a -10% debuff to all elemental resistances after each completed Act (Chaos Resistance is unaffected).

Therefore, activating the Sisters in Act 2 nets a zero Lightning Resistance change (+10% from the shrine, -10% Act completion debuff). In Act 2 Cruel, the net change is -30% (-40% Act completion debuff +10% from the shrine).

To verify the buffs are active, remove all equipment and check your resistances in the endgame. A -40% elemental resistance total indicates all campaign buffs have been correctly applied.
