The South Korean ratings board, GRAC, has classified *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach* with a mature rating of "19+". This classification stems from the game's inclusion of "excessive violence," "excessive profanity," and scenes depicting the use of various illegal substances. This rating ensures players are aware of the intense content they will encounter.

In a heartfelt gesture, Hideo Kojima presented flowers to actress Shiori Kutsuna, acknowledging her completion of work on *Death Stranding 2*. Kojima expressed his gratitude for her dedication, noting her efforts in performing motion capture in Los Angeles, undergoing 3D scanning, and recording voices in both Japanese and English across various locations, all amidst the challenges of the ongoing pandemic. Her involvement in the project dates back to the fall of 2022.

During the Tokyo Game Show 2024, Hideo Kojima unveiled additional details about *Death Stranding 2: On the Beach*. He shared several two-minute cutscenes, introducing key allies of the protagonist. Among them, George Miller plays Tarman, the captain of the mobile base Magellan, which navigates tar lakes. Fatih Akin portrays Dollman, a living doll and former medium who has lost his human form. Léa Seydoux reprises her role as Fragile, while Elle Fanning introduces a mysterious character named Tomorrow, discovered in an otherworldly location resembling the realm of the dead. Intriguingly, the original tagline for *Death Stranding* was "Tomorrow is in your hands."

One notable cutscene features characters singing the iconic song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head," by Burt Bacharach and Hal David, and engaging in conversation with a pregnant woman named Rainy, portrayed by Shiori Kutsuna.
