Unlocking Every Weapon in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Unlike previous Dynasty Warriors titles where players controlled numerous characters, each with unique weapons, Dynasty Warriors: Origins features a single protagonist who unlocks a diverse arsenal. This guide details how to acquire each weapon.
Weapon Acquisition in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
While earlier games linked weapons to specific characters and move sets, Dynasty Warriors: Origins streamlines this by allowing weapon switching. The journey begins with a sword, and additional weapons are earned by defeating enemy officers in various missions. It's possible to obtain all nine primary weapons before completing Chapter 3, although the specific officers encountered may vary. To ensure timely acquisition, follow this guide:
- Sword: Starting weapon.
- Spear: Acquired after completing the Battle of Guangyang in Chapter 1 (story progression may require purchase).
- Gauntlets: Defeat Zhou Cang during the Battle of Guangzong in Chapter 1.
- Wheels: Defeat Zhang Ju in the Suppression of You Province mission in Chapter 2.
- Podao: Defeat any officer wielding this weapon during the Subjugation of the White Wave Bandits mission in Chapter 2.
- Staff: Defeat an officer within a hidden treasure chamber accessed via a secret passage during the Assassination of Dong Zhuo mission in Chapter 2.
- Twin Pike: Defeat Zhang Liao in the Battle of Hulao Gate mission in Chapter 2.
- Lance: Defeat an officer wielding this weapon on the opposing side during the Battle of Xu Province (your allegiance to Cao Cao or Liu Bei determines the enemy officer).
- Crescent Blade: Unlocked sometime in Chapter 3 after aligning with a specific faction. The exact mission varies depending on player choices.
The final weapon, the halberd, requires defeating Lu Bu at the Battle of Hulao Gate after completing the main campaign. This challenging encounter rewards players with arguably the game's most powerful weapon.
Dynasty Warriors: Origins is currently available on PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.
