"Trials of Mana Update Adds Controller Support, Achievements"

Author : Ethan Mar 28,2025

Square Enix continues to enhance its mobile gaming offerings, with the latest update to Trials of Mana bringing controller support and achievements to both the regular and Apple Arcade versions. This update is a significant step forward, especially for those who prefer using a gamepad over touch controls. While the iOS and Apple Arcade versions now support your gamepad of choice, there's no word yet on whether Android users will receive the same update, though it could be on the horizon.

The timing of this update couldn't be better, following closely on the heels of last year's Visions of Mana release and its collaboration with Last Cloudia. It's clear that the fan response has been overwhelmingly positive, yet it also highlights a common issue with mobile RPGs: the often clunky 3D controls. For many players, these controls have been a barrier to fully enjoying games like Trials of Mana.

This is particularly unfortunate because the Mana series offers a unique alternative for JRPG enthusiasts who have explored Final Fantasy extensively and are seeking something new. Although the touchpad controls work well for most, they can be a significant obstacle for others. The addition of controller support could be the key to drawing in more players who might have otherwise hesitated.

The game is available in both its mainline and plus editions, and with the latest update, those who have been holding off might find now is the perfect time to dive in and experience what Trials of Mana has to offer.
