If you're looking to save money at any point this year, there are several key sale dates to mark on your calendar. We've compiled a list of the major upcoming sales events to help you plan your shopping strategy for 2025 and beyond.
Valentine's Day Sales (Now–February 14)
While Valentine's Day isn't traditionally a shopping holiday, it's a time when people are more inclined to buy gifts for their loved ones. As a result, discounts start appearing in early February and continue until the day itself. Common deals include smart watches, jewelry, LEGO flower sets, video games, and book sets. As the first major sales event of 2025, Valentine's Day sales often offer the lowest prices seen so far in the year.

Presidents' Day Sales (February 13–17)
Following Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day marks the first federal holiday with notable sales. Occurring on a Monday, these sales often begin the week before. You'll find discounts on mattresses, clothing, laptops, and PCs, along with sitewide sales from various retailers, including Amazon.
Tax Day Sales (April 15)
After a lull in sales events, Tax Day offers another opportunity for savings. While not a traditional holiday, many retailers capitalize on the period when people receive their tax returns. Look for price drops on TVs, electronics, and LEGO sets around this time.
Star Wars Day Sales (May 4)
May the Fourth, a playful nod to the Star Wars franchise, has become a prime time for deals on Star Wars merchandise, including LEGO sets, movie collections, board games, and collectibles. Discounts on popular Star Wars games are also common, making it a great day for fans to shop.
Mother's Day Sales (May 8–11)
Similar to Valentine's Day, Mother's Day is an excellent time to find discounts on popular gift items like flowers, jewelry, watches, and chocolates. Retailers know consumers are likely to buy gifts for mothers, so expect some price reductions, though not as steep as Black Friday.
Memorial Day Sales (May 22–26)
Memorial Day sales are another significant event, with many people enjoying a three-day weekend. Expect discounts on mattresses, clothing, appliances, laptops, and furniture. Major online retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy typically offer broader sales during this time, starting the week before the holiday.
Dads and Grads Sales (June 1–15)
Early June sees a convergence of graduation and Father's Day sales, making it a prime time for deals on big-ticket items like TVs, laptops, PCs, and furniture. This period is ideal for finding electronics deals before summer and the first Amazon Prime Day in July. It's one of the best times to buy a new laptop or gaming PC at a significant discount.
4th of July Sales (July 1–6)
The 4th of July, another three-day weekend holiday, offers substantial discounts on electronics like TVs and gaming monitors, often rivaling Prime Day or Black Friday deals. Other categories such as mattresses, major appliances, furniture, and clothing also see price cuts. As the first official summer sale, you'll find deals on sporting equipment and grills, not seen again until Labor Day.

Prime Day (Mid-July)
Amazon Prime Day has evolved into a major sales event, rivaling Black Friday in terms of discounts. Initially an Amazon-exclusive event, it now sees participation from retailers like Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and Kohl's. Prime Day is an excellent time to buy almost anything you need or want.
While the exact date for Prime Day 2025 is unknown, based on last year's pattern, it's expected to start on Tuesday, July 15 and run through Wednesday, July 16. Other retailers may have slightly different sale dates.
Labor Day Sales (August 25–September 1)
After Prime Day, August features back-to-school sales, culminating in Labor Day sales. Expect discounts on mattresses, clothing, LEGO sets, laptops, PCs, Apple products, and outdoor gear. Labor Day weekend, coinciding with the back-to-school season, is one of the best times to shop before Black Friday.
Although Labor Day falls on a Monday, sales typically start the week before.
October Prime Day Sales (Mid-October)
Amazon's "Prime Big Deal Days" in October is a newer event designed to kick off the Black Friday shopping season. While not officially called Prime Day, it offers similar deals. This sale, which started in 2022, has been adopted by other major retailers.
The exact date for this sale is yet to be announced, but it usually occurs during the second week of October and lasts a couple of days. Check out our coverage of the 2024 event for an idea of what to expect.
Black Friday Sales (November 1–30)
Black Friday is the ultimate shopping event, offering the best deals across all categories and retailers. While Black Friday 2025 falls on November 28, the sales window extends throughout November. The best deals often occur on Thanksgiving and the following Friday.
Major retailers typically announce their official Black Friday sales in late October, with sales starting the weekend before Black Friday, around November 21 this year.
Cyber Monday Sales (November 30–December 5)
Cyber Monday, which began in 2005, offers online discounts following Thanksgiving weekend. It has grown to match Black Friday in significance, with similar deals. Cyber Monday sales often start on the Sunday of Black Friday weekend and extend through the week, often labeled as Cyber Week.
Green Monday Sales (December 8–23)
Created by eBay in 2007, Green Monday marks the final stretch of holiday sales. Originally designed to ensure timely holiday shipping, it now extends until just before Christmas, with many retailers offering "last-minute" deals.
New Year's Sales (December 26–January 1)
The final sales event of 2025 starts just after Christmas, targeting shoppers returning gifts and looking to spend their extra cash. This period also offers great deals on older tech as retailers clear out inventory for new models. Late December and early January are ideal times to buy TVs or gaming monitors, especially with CES (Consumer Electronics Show) approaching.
