"Stellar Mercenaries Launches Jupiter Expansion for Vertical-Scrolling Shooter"

Stellar Mercenaries has just launched an exciting new upgrade, taking the action to the largest planet in our solar system. The Jupiter Expansion is now available, nearly doubling the game's content with an array of new worlds, enemies, and missions. If you haven't tried Stellar Mercenaries yet, it's a thrilling vertical-scrolling action arcade space shooter where you tackle procedurally generated missions, customize your ships and weapons, and strive to become the most feared mercenary in the solar system.

What's New in the Jupiter Expansion of Stellar Mercenaries?

The expansion transforms Jupiter and its famous moons—Ganymede, Io, and Europa—into dynamic battlegrounds, each presenting unique challenges. Ganymede offers a barren wasteland, Io is covered in volcanic debris, Europa is frozen and treacherous, and Jupiter itself is rife with storms.

Two new factions join the fray: the Jovian Empire, a formidable military force seeking to dominate the region, and the Pirate Council, a chaotic alliance of outlaws.

Players can dive into 50 new missions, featuring varied objectives such as hyperspace hunting, piracy, escort missions, and train defense. The update also introduces six new ships: Raider, Goblin, Mako, Boxer, Lightning, and Skybreaker, alongside a new arsenal of weapons including the Hyper Velocity Mortar, Plasma Seeker, EMP Rockets, Mauler Cannon, Electron Beam, and Neutron Beam.

New Hazards, Shields, and More

The Jupiter Expansion enhances gameplay with the introduction of Tier 4 shields and armor. New hazards await, including asteroid fields, elite enemy squadrons, and the formidable Pacifier. Some enemy mercenaries have been upgraded, introducing new classes like Nightmare, Riot, and Warhawk.

Additionally, the expansion enriches the auditory experience with 14 new music tracks and introduces a new side missions system, offering even more ways to engage with the game.
