The news of *Star Wars: Hunters* shutting down before even completing its first year has left fans disheartened. Yet, the game is set to celebrate its one-year anniversary before the final curtain call. But the question lingers—should we celebrate the anniversary of a game on its last legs?
When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?
The servers of *Star Wars: Hunters* are scheduled to go offline on October 1st, 2025, marking the end of its journey after just nine months since its launch. Players have been granted a few additional weeks to wrap up Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.Zynga, both the developer and publisher of the game, is set to release a final content update on April 15th. This update will introduce the last new Support Hunter, Tuya, available to players for free. In-game purchases will be disabled on the same day, signaling the beginning of the end.
Ranked Mode will remain active until the servers shut down, and events from the season will be rerun to give players a chance to enjoy them one last time. If you have any unspent Crystals, it's advisable to use them up, as no refunds will be issued.
It Isn’t Shocking
While it's sad to see *Star Wars: Hunters* go, the writing seemed to be on the wall from the start. Announced back in 2020, the game faced multiple delays and only conducted beta tests in the SEA and ANZAC regions, which limited its initial exposure.
The lack of major console support and a tepid reception further sealed its fate. Even the game's design missed the mark. With a universe as rich as Star Wars, the choice to focus on generic original characters instead of leveraging the iconic legends of the galaxy was a puzzling move.
If you've uninstalled the game but are considering one last adventure, *Star Wars: Hunters* is still available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown date.
