Serenity Forge has delighted fans by releasing two new games on Android this week: Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful, part of The Lisa Trilogy. If you've experienced these on PC, you're already familiar with the intense emotional journey they offer.
It’s Painful and Joyful at the Same Time
For those new to the series or looking to dive back in, let's explore what these games are about. The saga began with Lisa: The First in 2012 on PC, a retro-style game that plunges you into the mind of Lisa Armstrong. Here, you navigate a distorted reality shaped by trauma, piecing together fragmented memories and interacting with bizarre characters through VHS tapes. It's a surreal experience that subtly challenges your perception.
Following this, Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful were released on PC in 2014 and 2015, respectively. Now, the Android versions of these games, known as the Definitive Editions, have been updated and released, mirroring the enhancements made in the July 2023 PC updates.
You Can Play The Lisa Trilogy on Android
Lisa: The Painful follows Brad Armstrong as he traverses the desolate wasteland of Olathe in search of his adopted daughter, Buddy. This game is known for its brutal yet darkly humorous narrative, where your choices have lasting impacts, possibly resulting in the loss of limbs, sacrifices, and enduring hardships for others.
In Lisa: The Joyful, the concluding chapter, you take control of Buddy amidst a darker Olathe, post the catastrophic White Flash that eradicated all women except her. As Buddy, you fight for survival and seek vengeance, all while concealing your true identity. The game maintains the series' hallmark of presenting players with tough decisions that significantly affect the storyline.
The Definitive Editions enhance the experience with updated battle systems, the addition of 6 new Warlord skills, new border art, a music player, and a 'painless' mode, making these games even more appealing to both new and returning players.
If you're ready to embark on a journey that's grim, bizarre, yet beautifully crafted, download Lisa: The Painful and Lisa: The Joyful from The Lisa Trilogy on Android today.
