Astro Bot Rescue Mission offers a wealth of exploration beyond its main levels. Ten hidden portals lead to the secret Lost Galaxy, accessible only by finding cleverly concealed entrances within the game's regular worlds. Each portal is marked by a swirling icon on the level select screen. This guide details the location and method for accessing each portal.
Hidden Portal #1: Az-Tech Trail
Mid-level, locate a dark room with four lit torches surrounding a wall. Use the Twin-Frog Gloves to extinguish all four torches. The wall will then reveal the portal.
Hidden Portal #2: Creamy Canyon
Early in the level, find a snowy area with a bouncing ladybug enemy. Proceed past it to a charging pig. Grab the pig, swing it towards an icy statue, and release it to shatter the statue. Backtrack, jump over the ladybug, and reach a higher platform. Perform a charged spin attack to uncover a hidden room containing the portal.
Hidden Portal #3: Go-Go Archipelago
After defeating Captain Pincher, locate his claw embedded in the ground. A glowing area nearby indicates a spot for a charged spin attack. Drill into the ground to reveal a hidden chamber with the portal.
Hidden Portal #4: Downsize Surprise
Towards the level's end, find a bubble-blowing frog. Blow into your controller to activate the bubbles. Shrink down, ride a bubble, and transfer to another bubble to reach a branch above a bot. Navigate to the opposite branch to find the portal.
Hidden Portal #5: Free Big Brother!
At the level's start, turn around and locate platforms with an electric enemy. Lure the enemy to electrocute the platforms, revealing a hidden wall and the portal.
Hidden Portal #6: Bathhouse Battle
Find a house with a flaming chimney. After absorbing water, reach the roof and extinguish the flames. Descend the chimney to find the portal.
Hidden Portal #7: Hieiroglitch Pyramid
At the level's conclusion, turn right to find an area with falling jewels and a bounce pad. This leads to a hidden area with a trap. Find two hidden switches to open the path to the portal.
Hidden Portal #8: Balloon Breeze
Obtain the puffer-fish power-up. Backtrack to an early area with a distant platform and a bouncing ladybug. Launch the ladybug towards the platform, use the puffer-fish, and hover to reach the platform. Use motion controls to clear bamboo surrounding the portal, then activate it by circling its perimeter.
Hidden Portal #9: Djinny of the Lamp
After defeating Djinny, climb the ruins. Locate glowing areas indicating invisible platforms. Hover to each platform, then use a rug to reach a higher platform containing the portal.
Hidden Portal #10: Frozen Meal
Before the boss fight, roll a snowball into a large ball and use it as a platform to reach a cliffside area containing the final portal.
