Pokemon GO Reveals New Shadow Raid Day Plans

Pokémon GO's Shadow Raid Day: A Fiery Ho-Oh Returns!

Get ready for a fiery showdown! Pokémon GO announces a Shadow Raid Day featuring the legendary Ho-Oh on January 19th, 2025. This marks the first Shadow Raid Day of the year, offering trainers a prime opportunity to catch this powerful Fire-type Pokémon.

This event builds on the success of Shadow Raids introduced in 2023, providing a unique way to acquire these powerful variants. Following the popular Shadow Moltres and Shadow Mewtwo events of 2024, Ho-Oh takes center stage.

Event Details:

  • Date: Sunday, January 19th, 2025
  • Time: 2 pm to 5 pm local time
  • Featured Pokémon: Shadow Ho-Oh (increased shiny odds!)
  • Raid Passes: Up to 7 free Raid Passes from spinning Gyms (15 with a $5 ticket).
  • Special Move: Teach Shadow Ho-Oh the devastating Charged Attack, Sacred Fire (130 power in Trainer Battles, 120 in Raids/Gyms) using a Charged TM.

Boost Your Chances:

A special $5 event ticket significantly enhances the experience:

  • Increased Raid Pass Limit: Obtain up to 15 Raid Passes from Gyms.
  • Increased Rewards: Enjoy 50% more XP and double Stardust from Raid Battles.
  • Higher Rare Candy XL Chance: Perfect for powering up your level 40 Pokémon.
  • Bonus: These benefits extend until 10 pm local time on January 19th.

An Ultra Ticket Box ($4.99) will also be available in the in-game shop, including the event ticket and a Premium Battle Pass.

Beyond Ho-Oh:

The Pokémon GO excitement continues! Following the recent Sprigatito Community Day and Fidough debut, trainers eagerly anticipate the Community Day Classic (January 25th) and the Lunar New Year event (January 29th - February 2nd). Stay tuned for further details!
