Pokémon GO Leak Hints at New Adventure Effects for Black and White Kyurem

A recent Pokémon GO data mine suggests the upcoming arrival of Black and White Kyurem will introduce exciting new Adventure Effects. These Legendary Pokémon, fusions of Kyurem with Zekrom and Reshiram respectively, are slated to debut during the GO Tour: Unova event on March 1st and 2nd, 2025.

The leak, originating from Pokeminers, reveals two distinct Adventure Effects:

  • Ice Burn (White Kyurem): This effect temporarily slows the target ring during Pokémon encounters, significantly improving the chances of landing Great or Excellent throws.
  • Freeze Shock (Black Kyurem): This effect temporarily paralyzes the encountered Pokémon, preventing it from fleeing or disrupting the capture attempt.

These temporary bonuses could prove invaluable for catching challenging Pokémon.

More than just new effects:

The leak also uncovered a potential new item, a "Lucky Trinket," allowing players to instantly become Lucky Friends with another player (provided they are already Great Friends or better). While the effect is temporary (lasting a few hours), this item offers a significant advantage, as achieving Lucky Friend status is usually a rare occurrence, even for long-time Best Friends.

Other upcoming events:

While the GO Tour: Unova is still some time away, Pokémon GO players have much to look forward to in the near future. The Corviknight evolution line arrives on January 21st during the Steely Resolve event, alongside five-star raids featuring Deoxys and Dialga. Furthermore, Dynamax versions of the Legendary Bird Trio will be available in Max Raids from January 20th to February 3rd.
