The 97th Academy Awards nominations are in, and Emilia Pérez leads the pack with a record-breaking 13 nominations – the most ever for a non-English language film. Rachel Sennott and Bowen Yang announced the nominees on January 23rd during a live stream on the Oscars YouTube channel. Jacques Audiard's Spanish crime thriller, Emilia Pérez, is a major contender, vying for Best Picture, Best Director (Audiard himself), and Best Lead Actress (Karla Sofía Gascón).
Wicked and The Brutalist follow closely with 10 nominations each, while Conclave and A Complete Unknown secured eight apiece.
