Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test: Three-Hour Daily Limit
The upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign network test will impose a three-hour daily playtime restriction, running from February 14th to 17th. This limited access will be exclusive to Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 players. Applications for the test are currently open.
Following the phenomenal success of Elden Ring in 2022, FromSoftware's announcement of Nightreign generated considerable excitement. While initially stating no plans for a sequel or further DLC after the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, the surprise reveal of Nightreign at The Game Awards 2024 significantly heightened anticipation.
The network test, as stated on the FromSoftware website, serves as a crucial preliminary verification to assess online systems through large-scale network load testing. This limited test participation, however, may disappoint players hoping for extensive playtime. Interested participants can apply via the official FromSoftware website; PC players are excluded from this test phase.
Nightreign represents a departure for FromSoftware, prioritizing co-op gameplay and incorporating roguelike elements such as randomized encounters. While a release date remains unannounced, the network test strongly suggests further news is imminent.
