NieR: Automata Resource Management: Farming Dented Plates
While some resources in NieR: Automata are plentiful, the demand for materials, especially when upgrading numerous weapons, is substantial. Dented Plates, a frequently required component for many upgrades, are a prime example. While seemingly common, efficient farming strategies are crucial to amass the quantities needed.
Optimal Farming Locations for Dented Plates
Dented Plates are commonly dropped by these machine types:
- Small Biped (all variants)
- Small Flyer (all variants)
- Small Sphere (all variants)
These basic enemies are ubiquitous throughout the game. However, relying solely on random encounters and fast travel isn't the most efficient method.
The most effective location is the arena where you first confront Adam in the main storyline.
- Fast travel to the Desert: Housing Complex access point.
- Proceed deeper into the ruins.
- Descend to the pit.
Here, machines continuously respawn, with Small Bipeds being the most prevalent. Even at lower levels, these enemies offer a decent Dented Plate drop rate. This area is also beneficial for Titanium Alloy farming.
Alternative Farming Locations
If you prefer varied locations, the Forest Kingdom offers numerous groups of spear-wielding Bipeds. These groups usually yield at least one Dented Plate. Exploring the forest also provides opportunities to gather Beast Hide. Higher-level Bipeds have increased Dented Plate drop rates, so progressing through the story increases both enemy encounters and the chance of obtaining this resource.
Further Optimization
Equipping drop-rate enhancing plug-in chips significantly boosts your yield. Remember to avoid death, as this results in permanent chip loss.
