"We Are Muesli Launches New Mobile Narrative Game: In Their Shoes"

Indie studio We Are Muesli has exciting news for narrative game enthusiasts with the announcement of their upcoming game, In Their Shoes. Slated for release in 2026 on both mobile and PC platforms, this game has already caught the attention of the gaming community, earning a nomination for the prestigious independent and arthouse games awards 'A MAZE. 2025' in Berlin.

In Their Shoes Is a Narrative Game that’s More About Listening

Set against the backdrop of present-day Milan—a city brimming with contradictions—In Their Shoes invites players to step into the lives of seven distinct characters. The game unfolds through 49 short, interactive stories, each referred to as a "Moment," offering intimate glimpses into the characters' daily lives.

Each Moment is crafted to capture the nuances of the characters' lives, from their hesitations and routines to the split-second decisions they face. Some Moments unfold slowly, allowing players to immerse themselves in the characters' thoughts, while others demand quick reactions, simulating the urgency of real-life situations.

Unlike traditional narrative games, In Their Shoes presents a narrative that's intentionally untidy. As players navigate through the fragmented stories, they can uncover 26 hidden biographical details for each character, providing a rich, slice-of-life experience.

While the Play Store page for In Their Shoes is yet to go live, the game's Steam page is already available. To get a better feel for what the game offers, you can watch the announcement trailer below:
