To commemorate its 15th anniversary, Metro is offering a free game for just 48 hours. On April 14, developer 4A Games announced via Metro's official Twitter/X account that Metro 2033 Redux will be free-to-keep on Steam and Xbox until April 16 at 3 PM UTC.
This giveaway provides newcomers an opportunity to experience the series' origins. Additionally, 4A Games shared anniversary plans in a March 16 blog post on their official website, outlining celebratory events throughout the year.
The announcement stated: "We'll host special events, promotions, and exclusive content across Metro's social media channels this year to thank our community for joining this incredible journey."
Founded in Kyiv before expanding to Malta, 4A Games drew inspiration from Russian author Dmitry Glukhovsky's acclaimed Metro 2033 novel series.
Despite Ukraine's ongoing challenges, the studio remains committed to creating war-themed narratives. Their statement explained: "While we face unprecedented difficulties in dangerous circumstances beyond our control, our team remains as safe as possible. We appreciate your patience regarding the next Metro installment - it will be revealed when ready."
