Marvel Rivals Competitive Rank Reset: A Comprehensive Guide

This guide details the competitive rank reset mechanics in Marvel Rivals, a free-to-play Marvel-themed PvP hero shooter.

Competitive Rank Reset Mechanics

At the end of each season, your competitive rank is demoted by seven tiers. For example, a player ending the season at Diamond I will begin the next season at Gold II. Players at Bronze III, the lowest rank, remain there after the reset.

Season Reset Timing

The rank reset occurs at the conclusion of each season. While Season 1's start date provided a reference point, future season lengths are expected to be longer.

Marvel Rivals Rank Tiers

Competitive mode unlocks at player level 10. Progression through tiers requires accumulating 100 points per tier. The tiers are:

  • Bronze (III-I)
  • Silver (III-I)
  • Gold (III-I)
  • Platinum (III-I)
  • Diamond (III-I)
  • Grandmaster (III-I)
  • Eternity
  • One Above All (Top 500 Leaderboard)

Even after reaching Grandmaster I, players can continue earning points to achieve Eternity and One Above All. One Above All requires a top 500 leaderboard placement.

Season Duration

While Season 0 was shorter, subsequent seasons are anticipated to last approximately three months. New seasons introduce new heroes (e.g., Fantastic Four) and maps. The extended season length provides more time for rank advancement.
