Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - All Power Cells in Precursor Basin

Author : Henry Apr 08,2025

After conquering the intense Zoomer level in Fire Canyon, Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy introduces a seemingly less perilous vehicle section in Precursor Basin. However, don't let the serene setting fool you; this area presents some of the game's most challenging objectives, demanding precision and skill with the Zoomer to fully explore and conquer.

Precursor Basin is packed with driving challenges that test your abilities, from setting new records on race courses to navigating through intricate rings and engaging in Green Eco-based gardening. For those aiming to unlock every trophy in Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, mastering the Zoomer is essential to collect all the items scattered throughout Precursor Basin.

Herd the Moles into their Hole

Kick off your adventure with a straightforward task: herding blind moles back to their holes in the first section of Precursor Basin. The trick is to use the Zoomer to spook them into motion. Chase them down, utilizing the Zoomer's hop to make sharp turns and keep up the pressure until you've guided four moles back to their homes. Once completed, return to the Geologist in Rock Village to claim your Power Cell. It's wise to tackle all the challenges in this area before moving on.

Catch the Flying Lurkers

In the same vicinity as the moles, you'll encounter Flying Lurkers that scatter upon your approach. Your mission is to chase and ram them, navigating their tricky flight paths around Precursor Basin. Strategically cut them off at turns to secure hits, with the final Lurker dropping a Power Cell upon defeat.

Beat Record Time on the Gorge

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - Gorge Racecourse

The Gambler in the Village is looking to turn his luck around and needs you to beat the record time on the Gorge racecourse, located near Precursor Basin's entrance. The goal is to finish under 45 seconds, a challenging yet achievable feat with practice. Start by using Lurkers to gain height, then navigate through pillars to grab Blue Eco for a speed boost. Be cautious of sharp turns and Dark Eco Crates, and use strategic hops to navigate the course efficiently. After beating the record, return to the Gambler in Rock Village for a Power Cell. Aim for under 40 seconds to earn a trophy as well.

Get the Power Cell Over the Lake

Spotting the Power Cell over the lake is easy, but reaching it requires precise driving and timing. Start from the slope used for chasing Lurkers, ascend and loop around the hole, cross the narrow bridge, and use hops to traverse islands. A well-timed jump from the final island will secure the Power Cell.

Cure the Dark Eco Infected Plants

Take a break from high-speed action with this task: charge up with Green Eco and drive through the purple plants to cure them. Speed and precision are key, as the plants regrow if you're too slow. Use the Zoomer's hop for sharp turns and replenish Green Eco as needed. Completing this challenge earns you another Power Cell.

Navigate the Purple Precursor Rings

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - Purple Precursor Rings

The Purple Precursor Ring challenge requires you to pass through rings that appear sequentially. It's the easier of the two ring challenges, but still demands quick reflexes. Be prepared for a leap off a natural bridge to hit an airborne ring, and another jump after avoiding a hole to finish the course and claim your Power Cell.

Navigate the Blue Precursor Rings

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - Blue Precursor Rings

The Blue Precursor Rings present a tougher challenge. Starting near the slope used for the lake Power Cell, navigate left and down to find the first ring. Key moments include hopping off rocks to reach a high ring over the lake, and making precise turns around pillars and through arches. The course concludes with a challenging jump off a hill to hit the final ring and secure your Power Cell.

Free the 7 Scout Flies

Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - Scout Fly Locations

To earn another Power Cell, you must free all seven Scout Flies in Precursor Basin. The first is near the Mole Hole, the second at the top of a slope, and the third across a narrow bridge. The fourth and fifth are on and under a raised area with a hole, respectively. The sixth is after hopping across three islands, and the seventh is next to the first Blue Precursor Ring. Collecting all seven will reward you with a Power Cell.
