Hearthstone has announced the launch of its much-anticipated Battlegrounds Season 9, set to arrive on December 3rd. This new season brings a wave of cosmic vibes and flashy tech, completely transforming the Tavern with a lineup of revamped minions that promise to shake up the gameplay.
What’s in Store?
Bob’s Technotavern is in for a serious upgrade. Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 9 kicks off with a rating reset, bidding farewell to Trinkets and introducing the innovative Battlegrounds Tokens. These tokens offer players the chance to reroll hero options at the selection screen, providing a fresh start if you're not satisfied with your initial choices. Simply use a token to roll the dice and hopefully land on a better hero.
Before diving deeper into the details, let's look at the reveal and launch schedule. The Naga and Dragon reveals are happening today, with Quilboar and Beast reveals following on November 21st. Pirate and Duos-only reveals are slated for November 22nd, while Murloc and Demon reveals will take place on November 25th. The Elemental and Undead reveals are scheduled for November 26th. On December 2nd, preview event streams will be available along with the release of the 31.2 patch notes later that day.
What Else Is New?
Season 9 introduces three new heroes, with Farseer Nobundo leading the pack, equipped with Galaxy’s Lens and cosmic flares. Additionally, the season will see nearly 90 minions and Tavern spells either entering or exiting the pools, ensuring a fresh dynamic in battles.
In solo Battlegrounds games, the damage cap is set to change. Early-game damage will be limited to 5, increasing to 10 on turn 4 and 15 on turn 8. Once players reach the top 4, the cap is removed entirely, allowing for higher stakes in the late game.
The official patch goes live on December 3rd, introducing Beasts, Dragons, Quilboar, Pirates, Naga, and Mechs. Murlocs and Demons join the fray on December 5th, followed by Undead and Elementals on December 9th.
