Remedy has officially announced that FBC: Firebreak will launch on June 17, 2025. This exciting new title is a session-based, multiplayer PvE game set within the rich universe of Control. Players can look forward to tackling various Jobs—replayable missions with unique challenges, objectives, and environments that demand teamwork and adaptability.
FBC: Firebreak will be available across multiple platforms, including PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5, with a price tag of $39.99 / €39.99 / £32.99. Excitingly, it will also be accessible on day one through PC Game Pass, Game Pass Ultimate, and the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog (Extra and Premium). This marks Remedy's first venture into self-publishing.
Alongside the standard edition, Remedy has introduced the FBC: Firebreak Deluxe Edition, priced at $49.99 / €49.99 / £39.99. This edition includes exclusive cosmetics and premium voice packs such as "The Firestarter" and "The Pencil Pusher," along with the Firestarter Armor Set, Apex Revision (Helmet, Body Armor, Gloves), a Scorched Remnant Double-Barrel Shotgun Skin, and a Golden Firebreak Spray. Additionally, the Deluxe Edition comes with a "Classified Requisition: Firestarter," offering 36 unlockable cosmetic items. Owners of the base game can upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for $10 / €10 / £7.
The game introduces a new system called Requisitions, which allows players to earn new gear and cosmetics by simply playing the game. These rewards, which include weapons, equipment, armor, sprays, and more, are unlockable using in-game currency earned through gameplay. There are no time-limited windows or rotating stores; once an item is added, it remains available. For those seeking additional customization, Classified Requisitions offer premium cosmetic items, purchasable with real money. These items are purely cosmetic, have no impact on gameplay, and are permanently available.
Remedy has also confirmed plans for ongoing support post-launch, with two new Jobs set to be released in 2025, and more updates scheduled for 2026. All new playable content, including Jobs, will be free to all players. Cosmetics can be purchased, but they will not affect gameplay and there will be no limited-time rotations or daily log-ins.
Amidst this bustling development schedule, Remedy is simultaneously working on Control 2 and a remake compilation of Max Payne and Max Payne 2.
