Gears of War: Reloaded's upcoming beta weekend is being expanded in response to player feedback, offering more content and a longer duration.
"We heard you," the development team announced on social media. "More maps. More modes. More time."
Consequently, this weekend's multiplayer beta has been extended, now running from Friday, June 20 at 12 PM PDT to Sunday, June 22 at 9 PM PDT. The Execution game mode has been added to the rotation, joining King of the Hill on maps like Gridlock, Raven Down (Courtyard and War Machine variants), and Canals. Team Deathmatch will also be available on these same maps through social matchmaking, with Gold Rush included in the playlist.
While these additions may not fully address concerns some players have regarding server stability, that is precisely the purpose of a beta test. Experiencing these issues now is preferable to encountering them when the game launches in a few weeks.
Last month, Microsoft revealed that Gears of War: Reloaded, a remaster of the original 2006 title, will launch on August 26 for PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. This enhanced version will feature improved graphics and audio, cross-play, cross-progression, and all the DLC previously released for Gears of War: Ultimate Edition.
As a special offer for dedicated fans, Gears of War: Reloaded will be a free upgrade for anyone who purchased the digital version of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition before the announcement. Eligible players can expect to receive a code via direct message from Xbox ahead of the release.

"As we approach the 20th anniversary of Gears of War in 2026, we are reflecting on what this franchise represents. It's about the stories we've told, the friendships we've built, and the unforgettable moments we've shared. With Gears of War: Reloaded, we're opening that door to more players than ever," said Mike Crump, studio head at The Coalition, at the time of the announcement.
