How to Capture Monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds

Mastering Monster Capture in Monster Hunter Wilds

While slaying monsters is thrilling, capturing them for valuable parts is equally crucial in Monster Hunter Wilds. This guide outlines the process.

The Capture Process:

Weaken the monster significantly. Your Palico will alert you, and you'll observe signs like a skull icon on the minimap and the monster exhibiting weakness (limping, drooling).

Deploy a trap (Shock Trap or Pitfall Trap). Strategically place it and lure the weakened monster into it.

Once trapped, quickly use Tranq Bombs. Usually, one or two will suffice. Alternatively, craft Tranq Ammo or Tranq Blades, adapting to your weapon and style.

Successfully capturing a monster concludes the quest, returning you to Base Camp.

Acquiring Traps and Tranq Items:

While your Palico might occasionally set traps, it's advisable to carry your own.

  • Pitfall Trap: Requires a Trap Tool and a Net (Spiderwebs or Ivy).

  • Shock Trap: Requires a Trap Tool and a Thunderbug Capacitor.

  • Tranq Bomb: Crafted using a Sleep Herb and a Parashroom.

  • Tranq Ammo/Tranq Blades: Combine Tranq Bombs with Throwing Knives (for Blades) or Normal Ammo (for Ammo).

With this knowledge, you're ready to efficiently capture monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds. For further game tips and insights, explore The Escapist.
