Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed To March 2025 to Implement Player Feedback

Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the highly anticipated next installment in the acclaimed franchise, has been delayed until March 20th, 2025. Ubisoft cites the need to incorporate valuable player feedback to deliver a superior gaming experience. This marks the second delay for the title, initially slated for a 2024 release, then pushed to February 14th, 2025.

Enhancing the Player Experience: Ubisoft's Commitment

Ubisoft's official announcement on X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook emphasizes the importance of community feedback in shaping the final product. The statement highlights the significant progress already made but underscores the need for additional time to fully integrate player suggestions and ensure a truly immersive and engaging launch experience.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Delayed To March 2025 to Implement Player Feedback

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot further elaborated in a press release, reaffirming the company's dedication to creating the most ambitious Assassin's Creed game to date. The extra development time, he explained, will allow for complete integration of player feedback received over the past three months. This strategic move aims to maximize the game's potential and conclude the year on a strong note.

The press release also revealed Ubisoft's ongoing efforts to restructure the company, appointing advisors to explore strategic and financial options to enhance value for stakeholders. This follows the less-than-stellar performance of several 2024 releases, including Star Wars Outlaws and XDefiant.

While the official reason focuses on player feedback, speculation abounds that the delay might be a strategic response to the crowded February 2025 game release schedule. High-profile titles like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Civilization VII, Avowed, and Monster Hunter Wilds are all launching in February, potentially prompting Ubisoft to reposition Assassin's Creed Shadows for a less competitive release window.
