Xbox Games Series: A Tier List Ranking

Author : Chloe Apr 06,2025

After a robust Xbox Developer Direct to kick off 2025, the future looks bright for Microsoft and its impressive lineup of first-party studios. With such a strong stable of game series under the Xbox, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard banners, it's exciting to consider which ones truly stand out. Whether reminiscing about the glory days of the Xbox 360 or eagerly anticipating the future of Xbox games on other platforms like PlayStation, there's no shortage of legendary series to get excited about.

Here's a personal tier list that reflects my enjoyment and excitement for various Xbox game series, focusing on those that have had more than one entry:

Simon Cardy's Xbox Games Series Tier List

S-Tier:

  • Doom: The recent entries have solidified Doom's place as one of my favorite first-person shooters. The anticipation for Doom: The Dark Ages is high, as id Software continues to deliver exceptional experiences.
  • Forza Horizon: Outside of classics like Burnout 3 and Burnout Revenge, the Forza Horizon series stands out as some of the best racing games I've ever played.

A-Tier:

  • Halo: While Halo 2 and Halo 3 are among the finest campaign shooters ever made, recent inconsistencies prevent it from reaching the top tier.
  • Fallout: I'm more of a Fallout fan than an Elder Scrolls enthusiast. The allure of power armor trumps that of dragons for me.

If you disagree with my rankings, perhaps you believe Gears of War is Xbox's crown jewel or you're a staunch defender of Fuzion Frenzy. Feel free to create your own tier list and compare your S, A, B, C, and D tiers with the IGN community.
