Conquering the Lifer in Wuthering Waves 2.0
Wuthering Waves version 2.0 introduces the challenging Lifer, a unique Tacet Discord found in the Rinascita region's Oakheart Highcourt maze. This guide details how to defeat this formidable foe.
Locating the Lifer
The Lifer resides in Oakheart Highcourt's maze center, beneath a giant tree. An accessible entrance is located southwest, near the Resonance Beacon. Players can climb or use the Flight function to reach it.
The Lifer's Board Game
Inside, you'll find the Lifer beside a board game. The goal is to connect three of your (black) pieces before the Lifer (white) does. Placing a black piece on the outer circle opens maze walls/gates in that direction. You can exit and resume the game at any time. Winning isn't necessary for the fight, but it's crucial for buff removal.
Removing the Lifer's Buffs
The Lifer boasts seven buffs; four are removable using Stakes of Imbalance, while three are permanent. A glowing yellow module behind the Lifer displays these buffs.
Removable Buffs (Fragility):
- Growing Loneliness: HP recovery after 2 seconds of no damage.
- Desire for Escape: Increased ATK and additional DMG increase every 20 seconds.
- Impending Stalemate: ATK increase stacking up to 4 times per DMG dealt.
- Decay of Time: Increased resistance to all element types and boosted Max HP.
Permanent Buffs (Stability):
- Chains of Confinement: Interruption immunity above 50% HP.
- Endless Game: Reduced Immobilization duration.
- Divine Garden: Repels and damages nearby enemies after significant single-hit damage.
Use the Sensor near the Lifer to locate four purple lines leading to Stakes of Imbalance in outer maze rooms. Manipulate the board game to open the gates to these rooms. Each room contains a winged statue and a Stake of Imbalance (white glow). One room requires Tacet Discord defeat, another Friable Rock destruction, and one is simply on a table.
Place each Stake in the corresponding module to remove a buff; the purple line will turn yellow.
Defeating the Lifer
With the four removable buffs gone, the Lifer is significantly weaker. Initiate combat via the board game or the "Fight it out!" option. Rewards include Premium and Basic/Standard/Advanced Supply Chests for the first three victories. You can re-enable buffs for a harder fight, but there are no associated achievements.
Lifer Achievements
- The Lifer's Salvation: Defeat the Lifer.
- The Ring of The Lifer: Defeat the Lifer three times for all nine chests.
- Limit of Intelligence: Win the board game against the Lifer.
- Alpha Go: Lose the board game against the Lifer 10 times.
For the board game, focus on blocking the Lifer's moves; it will eventually make a mistake.
