War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius to Shut Down in May

Author : Henry May 06,2025

It's a somber day for fans of the Final Fantasy series as another beloved mobile title bites the dust. War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius is set to cease operations on May 29th of this year, marking yet another closure in Square Enix's lineup of mobile games. If you're eager to experience the game one last time, you'll need to dive in before the final curtain falls on May 29th.

This spinoff of the main Brave Exvius series is the latest in a string of Square Enix mobile titles to be discontinued. Interestingly, War of the Visions follows the original Brave Exvius, which announced its closure in September 2024.

Regardless of the quality of War of the Visions, Square Enix appears to be undergoing a period of reassessment with its mobile portfolio. With a vast array of smartphone games, including ports of classic retro titles, it's no shock that the company is reevaluating its strategy. However, the timing is curious, especially as the massively popular Final Fantasy XIV prepares to make its mobile debut, offering fans yet another way to engage with the franchise on the go.

The frequent closures might suggest an overconfidence in the market, leading to an oversaturation of spin-offs. This unfortunate trend means that fans will lose access to games that many have enjoyed. But don't despair; there's still a (now shrinking) selection of the best Final Fantasy games available on mobile to satisfy your RPG cravings.
